Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) tackles these conditions by reducing anxiety and helping clients to regain a sense of perspective; once anxiety is under control many troublesome symptoms are alleviated.  The therapy encourages positive thinking by helping clients to focus on solutions to problems, rather than dwelling on the problems themselves.  Clients usually find their sleep patterns improve and motivation, confidence and self-esteem are all restored.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy differs from earlier forms of therapy by encouraging clients to formulate a positive image of their problem-free future rather than analysing the cause or symptoms of the problem itself.  It is a highly effective and liberating approach.

Many people align their perceptions of hypnotherapy with the performances they see in the media and fear a loss of control or being ‘under a spell.’ This could not be further from the truth. We go into a hypnotic state every seven minutes (such as when reading a book or riding a bike) and through hypnotherapy we can replicate the restorative processes of relaxation to create powerful change. A trance state is actually incredibly natural and important to the body’s reparation.

At Head2Toe Crawley our Hypnotherapist is Paul Milham. Paul is a practising Clinical Hypnotherapist with clinics in Central London and Crawley.

Paul became a hypnotherapist through an unconventional route. Having worked both in television, as a scriptwriter, and as a teacher in a variety of secondary schools, Paul was used to working under extreme pressure in results driven environments. He became fascinated by the toll that stress can have on our bodies and the links between this and a variety of physical and emotional conditions, fears, habits and addictions.

He noted that whilst society has focused on our physical health, we are only just starting to recognise that we need to apply a similar philosophy towards our mental fitness. Every part of our bodies is wired to the next. When we are stress free our posture is good, our digestion efficient, our heart rate controlled and our mind sharp as a computer. But a body in the grip of stress can be as toxic as a body surviving on fast food and sugar.

Paul has had many notable successes as a hypnotherapist and supports people with a range of conditions.

Setting up a clinic in Crawley has also been a dream come through for Paul as, though living in London, he grew up in Crawley and is very pleased to be making a weekly trip to his birth town to deliver hypnotherapy.
